Case Study: Corpstage's Assessment of Infobip's Sustainability Report 2021

Infobip, a leading global cloud communications company based in Croatia, has taken significant strides towards integrating sustainability into its operations. Corpstage was engaged to assess the report and provide insights into Infobip’s sustainability performance and initiatives.

We conducted a comprehensive assessment of Infobip Croatia’s Sustainability Report, based on methodology of “Measuring Stakeholder Capitalism Towards Common Metrics and Consistent Reporting of Sustainable Value Creation” framework by the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council (IBC), focusing on key areas such as environmental sustainability, social impact, and governance, focusing on key ESG indicators such as energy efficiency, carbon emissions, diversity and inclusion, employee well-being, and governance practices. The assessment involved a detailed review of the company’s initiatives, targets, and performance metrics in these areas. The assessment aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Infobip’s sustainability efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.

Infobip’s report demonstrated strong governance practices, with comprehensive disclosures on board composition, anti-corruption policies, and risk management processes, aligning with the framework’s Principles of Governance pillar. While Infobip reported on its environmental initiatives, such as energy efficiency and waste management, there was room for improvement in reporting on greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and biodiversity impacts, as outlined in the Planet pillar.

Infobip excelled in reporting on employee well-being, diversity, and inclusion, and talent development programs, aligning with the People pillar. The report provided detailed information on Infobip’s economic performance, community investments, and responsible business practices, addressing several metrics under the Prosperity pillar.

Based on the assessment, Corpstage found the following areas where Infobip could enhance its reporting to better align with the “Measuring Stakeholder Capitalism” framework:

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions: Implement a comprehensive GHG emissions accounting and reporting system across the value chain, following the framework’s guidance.

Water Management: Disclose water consumption data and implement robust water stewardship practices, as outlined in the framework’s Planet pillar.

Human Rights Assessments: Conduct and report on human rights impact assessments, both within the company and across the supply chain.

Supply Chain Sustainability: Expand reporting on supplier sustainability assessments, responsible sourcing practices, and initiatives to promote sustainable supply chains.

Corpstage’s assessment highlighted Infobip’s strong commitment to sustainable practices and transparency. It provided valuable insights into Infobip’s sustainability performance, strengths, and opportunities for improvement. By addressing the recommended areas, Infobip can further strengthen its sustainability initiatives and solidify its position as a responsible corporate citizen.
