The International Institute for Climate Action (IICA) is an organization dedicated to addressing climate change and sustainability issues. Founded in 2012, it is the first association of experts in climate change and policies in the Republic of Croatia and the wider region. IICA’s mission revolves around assisting businesses in mitigating climate change, reducing CO2 emissions, and incorporating sustainable practices into their strategies.
One of IICA-ESG’s key functions is providing international education and certification in the field of ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. This comprehensive education program covers all three ESG criteria and is developed in collaboration with “Exponential Education.” It offers various certification levels:
- Level 1 – ESG Finance / Business Advisor
- Level 2 – ESG Finance / Business Specialist (SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER)
- Level 3 – ESG Finance / Business Expert (CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER)
This program, created by a team of 100 professors worldwide, including Nobel laureates, ensures that candidates are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the field of ESG
Candidates undertaking IICA-ESG’s education are expected to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. This code outlines principles that uphold moral integrity, fairness, and ethical conduct. Failure to comply with this code may result in disciplinary actions. Ethical behavior is fundamental to building trust in expertise and maintaining a good reputation.
IICA-ESG collaborates with internationally recognized partners to establish and implement education programs that adhere to the highest global, professional, and ethical standards. The goal is to educate professionals who contribute to organizational development while preserving the environment.
Candidates can register for ESG education on the IICA-ESG website, choosing from different levels and scheduling options. The courses are conducted online, for example with a daily commitment of at least 45 minutes, spread over an eight-week period.
IICA-ESG operates in several countries, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The organization has established a network of non-profit organizations in these regions.
IICA-ESG offers a newsletter subscription service to keep individuals informed about upcoming education programs and events related to ESG. Subscribers can choose which ESG levels they want to receive information about.
